please give detailed description, caring, adaptability, growing condition of Huperzia Phlegmaria

Huperzia phlegmaria, also known as the tassel fern or common tassel fern, is an epiphytic lycophyte native to tropical rainforests across Africa, Asia, Australasia, and many Pacific Islands. It typically grows on trees or rocks in moist, shaded forest environments, with elongated aerial stems up to 80 cm long and narrow, lance-shaped leaves that are leathery in texture. The plant produces club-shaped sporophylls where spores develop, giving it the common name “clubmoss”.

Description
Huperzia phlegmaria’s distinctive features include spirally arranged, coriaceous leaves with a differentiation between sterile and fertile zones. The aerial stems hang and branch dichotomously, and the plant has a true root system. It resembles moss in appearance but is vascular, with a dominant sporophyte stage producing spores in its fertile zones.

Caring
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light; tolerates some direct sunlight in the morning or late afternoon but avoids harsh midday sun to prevent leaf scorch.

Water: Requires consistent moisture; the growing medium should remain moist but not waterlogged. Some sources recommend letting the medium dry slightly between watering, especially in winter, but overall prefers very wet conditions to mimic its rainforest habitat.

Humidity: High humidity (around 80%) is crucial. Regular misting or placing the plant in humid areas like bathrooms or using humidity trays is beneficial.

Soil: Does not require traditional soil; grows best on a well-draining, peaty medium such as sphagnum moss or peat with good airflow to avoid root rot.

Fertilizer: Monthly fertilization with a balanced fertilizer diluted to half strength (e.g., 20-10-20) during the growing season encourages healthy growth.

Adaptability
Huperzia phlegmaria is sensitive and somewhat challenging to grow, as it demands stable, warm (around 22°C), and humid conditions with bright but indirect light. It does not tolerate prolonged dryness or extreme shade well, and poor airflow or soggy conditions can lead to plant decline. However, it can tolerate being placed several feet away from a light source indoors. The plant benefits from an airy environment and careful watering to prevent stagnation or rot.

Growing Conditions
Temperature: Warm environments around 22°C are ideal.

Humidity: Around 80% relative humidity mimics its natural environment.

Light: Avoid direct sun; prefers indirect bright light.

Medium: Peaty, well-draining, and able to retain moisture without becoming waterlogged.

Watering: Keep medium moist, watering more frequently in summer and less in winter.

Placement: Best grown as an epiphyte on tree bark, in hanging baskets, or mounted on wood with moss; also suitable as a houseplant in humid rooms.

Propagation: Can be propagated by spores or division during the growing season.
